Claw-Hold-on-Summer Salad

September 30, 2009

P1015354

Thought it’s technically fall, this week’s CSA produce delivery is seasonally torn. Apples, potatoes and eggplant rub elbows with the last of the tomatoes, peaches and watermelon. Last night the ingredients amalgamated into an undoubtedly summer-centric salad: watermelon, peach, tomato and basil dotted with creamy goat cheese and grilled chicken. Read on for recipe . . .

September 28, 2009 Feathering the Nest

September 16, 2009 Travel

Don’t get me wrong.  I love my big suburban kitchen.  But I miss the sheer variety of quality food that was previously at my fingertips in New York, without me lifting a paring knife.  So when visiting I devolve into a flavor-crazed food zombie, planning my days around my favorites haunts.  “Museums?  But we’ll starve [...]

Now That's Pluck

September 10, 2009 Fashion

I just picked up this teal number from Pretty Little World Vintage.  It’s gone a long way towards satisfying a recently acute craving for feathers. Good news – there’s plenty more on Etsy!

Beach Boys Tune: New to Me

September 3, 2009 Flotsam

Am I the last person on earth to discover Marcella by The Beach Boys?  It’s like the music fairies delivered a big bag of infectious end-of-summer fun to my door.
